Our People

Curt Engelmann

Curt is the Managing Director of TALinsight, LLC. He has over 25 years of corporate human resources and consulting experience. As a principal with Mercer Human Resources Consulting Tampa office, Curt developed and led the Compensation and Performance Management Practice in Florida and served on the firm’s National Compensation Practice Leadership Group. With Ernst & Young, LLP, Curt was a Principal in the Atlanta office, where he developed and led the firm’s Recruitment and Retention and Human Resources Transformation Practices. Curt began his career with the General Mills Restaurant Group (now Darden Restaurants, Inc.) where he held several HR management positions, including Vice President of Compensation and Benefits.

Curt has extensive experience in the use of assessments for the selection and development of employees and is certified in the use of the DISC, PIAV, Hartman Value Profile, and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

Curt has a passion for understanding and optimizing job fit and talent in the workplace. In addition to working with his clients in there areas, Curt volunteers in several career ministries where he presents workshops and coaches job seekers in such areas as resume development, career planning, and negotiating compensation.

Curt holds bachelors degrees in Economics and Business from Lake Forest College and the University of Denver, respectively, and a MS degree in Management from Rollins College.

Brinna Gard

Brinna is the Account Manager and Senior Human Capital Analyst for Talinsight. Brinna not only analyzes client profiles and custom benchmark models, but also maintains client talent databases. She provides client support and trains our clients to use the Assessment Administrative and Analysis Centers.

Brinna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Statistics from the University of Georgia. While at UGA, she participated in a research project with the Industrial-Organizational Psychology Department studying the relationship between personality factors and job performance.

Merrimac Penman

Is the Manager of Human Capital Analysis for Talinsight.  In this role, Merrimac is responsible for the analysis of the correlation between assessment results and employee performance in order to develop custom candidate selection benchmarks.

Previously, Merrimac was a Manager at Ernst & Young, LLP providing executive compensation and employee pay solutions to clients in a variety of industries.  Merrimac specialized in providing extensive analyses for clients in the areas of pay for performance and turnover solutions.  Merrimac’s corporate experience includes three years as a Compensation Manager for the State of Georgia Merit System where she was instrumental in rolling out a new compensation system for over 100,000 State employees.  Prior to working for the State of Georgia Merit System, Merrimac was a Compensation Analyst for MicroBilt Corporation.

Merrimac  holds a Masters of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
